With over 30 years of experience working in the dental field, Dr. Don Cheatham has focused the past 20 years on pediatric dentistry.

Graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology, he went on to become a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma’s College of Dentistry in 1981. After working as a general dentist in private practice for nine years, Dr. Cheatham earned his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry.

Following his post-doctoral work, he worked for three years as a contract pediatric dentist for the USPHS Indian Health Service in Ada, Anadarko, Claremore and Wewoka. In 1994, Dr. Cheatham established a 12-year private pediatric practice in Duncan, OK. In 2003, he began Children’s Dentistry of Coffee Creek in Edmond, OK, where he currently practices.

He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a title awarded to pediatric dentists based on their excellence in high quality oral health care for the complete range of patients in their care, including infants, children, adolescents and patients with special needs.

Deciding to work with children is more than a career choice for Dr. Cheatham. It is a joy that he experiences each day.

“It is fun and interesting to watch children grow and change. The unabashed honesty, unlimited creativity and uncontrolled laughter of a child renews my faith in mankind.”

Dr. Cheatham uses the guidelines and policies established by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also affiliated with Summit Medical CenterĀ in Oklahoma City.
